| EMF House building launched
in Manchester |
Following the successful development of EMF's first-ever community
asset in London, the Foundation recently acquired a four-storey,
Grade 2 listed building in the heart of Manchester's Chinatown
as our second community asset.
Aimed at fostering community regeneration and social enterprise,
EMF House is the culmination of a long process of engaging statutory
agencies, local stakeholders and minority ethnic groups across
the North West Region. Featuring 10,000 square feet of office
space and an array of ICT equipped business units, meeting and
conference facilities; EMF House is now enabling local enterprises
and community groups to come together under the same roof, thus
fostering co-operation, sharing of intelligence and best practice
as well as business growth.
To celebrate the launch of this new community asset, EMF assembled
a gathering of Government representatives, community and business
leaders and local grass-roots organisations. Our distinguished
guests included Lord Bhatia (EMF's Chair), Sir Howard Bernstein
(Chief Executive of Manchester City Council) and Councillor
Afzal Khan (Lord Mayor of Manchester).
EMF House was officially launched on 8th February 2006 at 12
Charlotte Street, Manchester M1 4FL. To find out more, please
